Our small country town of Vandalia offers a train that passes by the hotel two to three times a day, a small cinema for enjoying , a bowling alley for hours of fun, several parks with walking paths and play equipment, an Historical Museum, a new swimming pool with slides and our own Lighthouse Cafe' with it's famous Pelican as well as steak dinners and more. The innkeepers, Tom and Debra, having a love of Christ and family have adopted 22 children from 3 Third World Countries and the United States. They have endless stories to share about their walk with the Lord Jesus and raising and adopting a loving family that joyfully serves others. The Great Hall
Our Great Hall is a wonderful room for meetings, family parties or fine dining! The fireplace is cozy and the 3 large windows have white lace curtains. There are 2 doors with transit windows. Great for birthday parties, romantic dinners and family reunions this hall seats 24 people and it adjoins the Lighthouse Cafe for seating for another 50.

The grand staircase is original from the 1906 construction of the hotel.

We have a coin laundry so washing and drying your laundry is a snap. We have a treadmill, and exercise bike. Also popcorn is available at the guest microwave. We have a resident white Canary named McPike after the man who built the hotel. We also have replica phones to compliment the hotels nostalgic era.

Common area for games, reading or just a good conversation!! Beautiful original domed skylight is in this area. Relax with a book or listen to soft music. The guest computer is available with internet access or use your own laptop computer with our wireless access.
